Day 10. Monday October 10th. ??? – ABOUT 124KMS WEST OF DALHOUSIE

Monday October 10th - ??? – ABOUT 124KMS WEST OF DALHOUSIE

Up to another lovely sunrise, breaky etc etc – for some, who shall remain nameless, there were some feeling rather sub par following the mixture of beer, red, white and cowboys the night before.

The bonnet went back onto the Pajero, which I think was a whole lot easier than trying to ensure that it was ABSOLUTELY secure on the roof rack, especially with some of the strong winds we have been having.

An uneventful day, which is a very good thing compared to yesterday’s issue with Mike and Cathy’s car, I am sure they are relieved the day panned out well.
Wind blowing on the top a dune
We travelled really well in the morning, getting almost 60kms before lunch, which we had at the Colston Track corner.

There were a few interesting dunes after lunch which challenged a few, but no dramas at all.
This is where we were...getting there..slowly.

Cos he could....

Little white Ska and big white Disco.

yep Reve, the sand gets in everywhere.

More Green Birdflower

Milani Bigfoot...a sock full of sand

Jaffi and Puss in Boots keeping an eye on things

a harsh bush with a lacey flower

yellow and purple together

Loved the color of the white on the red sand and the shadow of this plant

Kerri at the wheel of the Disco.

Dad carrying out some running repairs and Mike's hat

While the tools are out...

Lets make the toasting fork we forgot to pack.

Reve took a fancy to the fork...so it was duly presented

Milani being a 'pony'

the usual Toilet tent routine, 5 people for one toilet tent...but the design
features did get better everyday.

The plans for an early stop to enable a roast, were pretty quickly dismissed as the wind was blowing and we were worried about sparks from a fire. So a quick tea was then planned –

For Stef, Meg and Milani it was leftovers, Steve whipped up a chilli con carne (a ‘little’ hot according to Reve), Mike and Cathy had meatball mash (as the meatballs failed to survive the vigorous stirring required to prevent sticking to thin pots) and Kerri/Nicola whipped up a ‘Special Simpson’ fried rice – with steak, bacon, broccoli, water chestnuts, bean sprouts, baby corn, peas, shrimp, egg etc.

As usual the communal dishes to be washed, dried, sorted and put away prior to getting ready and drifting off to an early bed time.
